Easy Homemade Sloppy Joes

- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 onion diced
- 1/2 bell pepper diced
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp granulated garlic
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- Burger buns
- Mayo optional
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Cook onion and bell pepper until softened.
Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
Add ground beef and break apart while cooking.
Stir in spices and cook until beef is browned. Drain oil if needed.
Create a well in the center and cook tomato paste briefly.
Add tomato sauce, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire, brown sugar, and Dijon.
Mix and simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve on toasted buns (add mayo if desired).
