Easy Homemade Sloppy Joes

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 1/2 bell pepper diced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp granulated garlic
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • Burger buns
  • Mayo optional

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook onion and bell pepper until softened.
  • Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
  • Add ground beef and break apart while cooking.
  • Stir in spices and cook until beef is browned. Drain oil if needed.
  • Create a well in the center and cook tomato paste briefly.
  • Add tomato sauce, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire, brown sugar, and Dijon.
  • Mix and simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Serve on toasted buns (add mayo if desired).
